Strupe Chiropractic Center is a family owned and operated chiropractic care business, located in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem, NC. Established in 1924, Strupe Chiropractic Center is the oldest continuously operating chiropractic office in the state of North Carolina and is proud to have served Forsyth County and surrounding counties, providing exceptional chiropractic care for more than 90 years.
As a family practice, carried on by three generations of chiropractors, the morals and values upon which it was founded are still upheld today. With high standards of patient care and a legacy of excellence, Strupe Chiropractic offers quality chiropractic treatment and services for the whole family.
History
Floyd J. Strupe Sr., D.C.
Dr. Floyd J. Strupe, Sr., who was originally from Tobaccoville, NC, founded Strupe Chiropractic Center in 1924 upon earning his degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic. Dr. Strupe Sr. began his practice in King, NC and later opened an office in downtown Winston-Salem in the First National Bank building. In 1954 he moved the Winston-Salem office to its current location at 128 N. Spruce Street. The King office remained in operation as an evening office until it was closed in 2002.
Dr. Strupe Sr. worked six days a week, treating patients day and night. He even saw patients on Sunday afternoons if needed. Dr. Strupe Sr. died while still in practice in 1968 at the age of 68.
Floyd J. Strupe Jr., D.C.
In 1949 after graduating from Lincoln Chiropractic College, Dr. Floyd J. Strupe, Jr. joined the practice, helping to expand the reach and care of Strupe Chiropractic Center. Dr. Floyd Strupe Jr. would travel to different communities including Rockford, NC and Mount Airy, NC to treat patients several days a week while still seeing patients in the Winston-Salem office during the day and King office at night.
Dr. Strupe Jr. retired in 2007 after practicing for more than 58 years. He passed away in August of 2015 at nearly 94 years of age.
Dr. Floyd J. Strupe III joined the family practice in 1981 upon graduating from Texas Chiropractic College. Strupe Chiropractic Center continued to flourish. Strupe III worked side by side with his father for 26 years.
Strupe Chiropractic Center continues to serve patients of all ages in Winston-Salem and surrounding communities under the practice of Dr. Floyd J. Strupe, III.
